Musical experience: I grew up in a house with an old player piano and a couple hundred piano rolls. When I was 6 years old, my mom saw me watching the notes play and picking out the notes to play the melodies. She got me piano lessons, and I’ve been playing ever since. Some of my earliest memories are listening to The Beatles’ “Abbey Road”, Disney’s “Jungle Book” soundtrack, featuring Louis Prima, and those old piano rolls. Later, I played in rock bands in high school, attended New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and made my living playing and recording music in New York.
